Fire Victims Can Obtain No-Fee Replacement Titles for Vehicles and Vessels
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – Vehicle owners affected by the recent wildfires may need ownership documents, such as a physical title, when working with their insurance carriers.
Under the Governor’s Emergency Declaration, individuals impacted by the recent fires can receive replacement titles for their vehicles or vessels at no cost. Normally, the replacement title fee is $39.50.
From Wednesday, August 12 through Wednesday, September 9, eligible vehicle owners may obtain a no‑fee replacement title. These titles are mailed from Olympia, and delivery may take several weeks. If an owner requires an immediate physical title, the $50 Quick Title fee still applies.
Owners must appear in person at a vehicle licensing office. They may visit any of the eight vehicle licensing offices or the main office at the County Courthouse. They may also visit the three vehicle licensing offices in Stevens County.
